Set in the beautiful West Wales countryside above the Cothi River, our family home is full of character and period features. Parts of the former farmhouse date back to the 1500s but it was extensively rebuilt in 1718 and has an additional Victorian ground floor frontage. If you love old-world quirky charm and oak beams aplenty, this is the place for you. However, if you like things slick and modern, you will be sadly disappointed! The five-acre grounds are at your disposal for relaxation and stunning walks and biking routes lead from the doorstep. 20 minutes drive to Carmarthen or Llandeilo; 15 minutes to Brechfa. Two large first-floor rooms are available for you to enjoy this unique rural retreat: one with a king-size bed; one with twin beds. As it is an historic listed property, we are unable to alter the layout or function of rooms so there are no ensuite facilities but guests have exclusive use of a full bathroom and separate shower room, both across the landing. All bedlinens and towels are provided. No TV in the rooms but feel free to make use of our family living room. Breakfast is included and each room has a kettle with hot drinks supplies. There is no fridge in the rooms but you can help yourselves to fresh milk from our kitchen as needed. You are welcome to put items in our kitchen fridge as well as use our tableware to consume your own food and drinks. It is important to note that the house has very thick stone walls so there is no mobile phone coverage indoors. We have pets so if you suffer from allergies the property will not be suitable for you. The house is next to a dairy farm. We do not normally allow children but, on request, we may be able to make an exception for a sensible older teenager.

With my husband, I run a business providing services and tuition in hand bookbinding and conservation-restoration of books. This is located in outbuildings of the property. We feel privileged to live in such lovely surroundings and enjoy sharing our home with holidaying guests and residential students.

A peaceful country setting with only cows for neighbours (we are next to a dairy farm), this is a place to truly get away from it all. While the house is tucked into a sheltered hollow, there are wide views across the Cothi River valley from our adjoining field. Five minutes walk to the Cothi riverside; historic and natural attractions galore within easy reach.
