Designed by John Wood the Elder, the town houses in Pierrepont St and Pierrepont Place were named after Evelyn Pierrepont, 2nd Duke of Kingston upon Hull, an English nobleman and a member of the House of Lords, who sold the Bath Abbey Orchards to Wood and his business partner and thus it was named in homage to the Pierrepont family. Wood proceeded to design housing in this area alongside his work designing The Circus, Prior Park and Queen's square among many others. This relationship is what inspired the renovation of Evelyn House: a desire to combine the classic historical beauty of Georgian architecture with a forward thinking contemporary art aesthetic. Evelyn House is ideally located in the centre of Bath, a three minute walk from Bath Spa train station and local bus station and just moments away from the iconic tourist spots The Bath Abbey, The Pump Rooms and The Roman Baths. Within walking distance you will find Southgate shopping district where off street car parking is available. Please note street car parking is limited in Bath City Centre.
