Within a ten minute drive is Connemara Sands Hotel, and the local commercial centre - Ballyconneely with Keogh's of Ballyconneely bar and shop. The local town, and Capital of Connemara, Clifden, is a twenty minute drive with a choice of shopping, cafe's, bars and restaurants. For taxi service to and from Ballyconneely of Clifden is available year round and booking is always essential, more details available on request from host. The things to do - Park the car, in calm walk the beach, when dry walk the shore, in a storm feel the thunderous sea pound your chest from a high perch, in rain listen to Luke Kelly album, when silent do nothing, if trees are falling make a hot whiskey, in thunder get a candle, in lightening light the candle, on a moonlight night see your shadow, new moon see the blackness on the ground and The Milky Way above, any night read Of Mice and Men, go outside and look north as far as your eyes can see towards the North Pole with nothing in your way, or just light the stove and relax in the cosy century old stone built Connemara cottage.
